A man has been apprehended in connection with an armed robbery at a CVS in Ashburn. According to police scanner traffic, state police captured the suspect after a chase that lasted over an hour, which ended in the far North Suburbs. Video footage shows the location where the incident ended. State troopers boxed in a red sedan, believed to be the suspect’s car, on southbound I-94 near Gurnee. This occurred around 7:20 PM on Saturday night, about two hours earlier.

Chicago police state that a man entered the CBS at 86 and South Cicero, where he showed a store employee a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. After the employee complied, the man fired a shot into the ceiling. Fortunately, no one was injured. According to an online publication, Arlington Cardinal News, officers from multiple agencies pursued the suspect’s vehicle as it headed north on I-94. During the pursuit, they attempted to stop the car with spike strips.

The suspect crossed into Wisconsin, then turned around and drove back into Illinois, where he was taken into custody near Six Flags Great America. The red sedan had a broken passenger side window.

Charges are pending against the arrested man, according to Chicago police..
