After nearly 90 years, burlesque is making a comeback at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix with a show called “Arizona Unzipped.” The performance is set to provide a fun lesson in Arizona history through dance, music, and narration by Arizona’s hip historian Marshall Shore.

The show will cover various periods and places in Arizona’s history, including Tombstone and prohibition-era Melinda’s Alley.

The event, which is being put on by pyrosutra of PS presents, will also feature live singing and music.

The Orpheum Theatre is a historic venue that has seen performances from some of the top burlesque performers in history, including Gypsy Rose Lee and Fanny Bryson.

The show is set to take place on Friday, March 24th and will serve as a fundraiser for Friends of the Orpheum Theatre.
