Arizona Governor Takes Second International Trip to Oman to Highlight Military Partnership
Arizona Governor, Hobbs, has traveled to Oman to promote the military partnership between the two nations.
The governor’s trip follows the announcement made back in October that the Arizona National Guard had formed a partnership with the armed forces of Oman.
During the trip, Hobbs met with military officials and students and took questions from the latter.
In a statement, the governor said that the partnership between the two countries would bring valuable interoperability opportunities beyond the military sector.
Mick Maguire, the former adjunct general for the Arizona National Guard, also praised the partnership and highlighted its cost-effective way of sharing training and skills.
Although the cost of the trip is yet to be disclosed, Hobbs brought along her Chief of Staff, a policy staffer, and four members of her security detail.
It is expected that a visit from Omani officials to Arizona will take place in May.
