Highway 10 construction is set to begin in Anoka this weekend, with the Ferry Street bridge closing to traffic in both directions starting at 9 p.m.

on Friday, March 17th, and planned to reopen on Monday, March 20th.

The road is a main artery into the heart of Anoka, and businesses are concerned about the impact the construction will have on their bottom line.

The construction will reduce the road to one lane through the fall, causing delays and detours.

This project is part of a $98 million reconstruction of the Highway 10 corridor, which started last year.

Although construction is disruptive, once it is completed, the bottlenecks on Hwy.

10 will be eliminated, and the road will become more of a true freeway.

Despite the disruption, businesses are hopeful that this project will be beneficial for the area in the long run.
