An American who survived a kidnapping in Mexico is sharing his story for the first time.
Eric Williams was one of four Americans taken hostage in Matamoros earlier this month.
The kidnappers are suspected members of a drug cartel who allegedly killed two Americans, but Williams and Latavia Washington McGee survived.
Williams was shot in the leg and has undergone several surgeries to repair the damage.
From his hospital bed, Williams thanked supporters and expressed gratitude for their prayers.
Mexican authorities have charged six people with the kidnappings.
The cartel turned over five of its members allegedly involved and also apologized for the murders.
