beachfront parking lot in Orman Beach turned into a crime scene today when a woman charged at police officers with a knife. The incident occurred at Romano Beachfront Park on South Atlantic Avenue near Milsap Road. The woman, identified as Treasure Roberts, was shot by an Orman Beach police officer and is currently in the hospital.
According to witnesses, the woman made multiple attempts to harm the officers, including using her car. The situation unfolded when she approached a community service officer and began hitting his car with her bags. She then fled but was followed by the officer in his vehicle.
Ultimately, the suspect rammed her car into the officer’s car and later charged at the officers with a knife, leading to the shooting. Police provided immediate aid to the suspect before she was taken to the hospital.
The officers involved will be placed on administrative leave. The investigation will be handled by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE)..
