Atascadero, California, welcomed back the 7th Annual Tamale Festival with great enthusiasm.

The event, held at the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero, featured nearly 30 vendors from across the state, offering a wide variety of gourmet traditional and sweet tamales.

Attendees had the opportunity to not only indulge in delicious tamales but also take part in exciting tamale-eating contests.

Additionally, there was a Chihuahua costume contest and a pet contest, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.

“It’s a lot of fun, and it’s a good thing to come out every year.

You get to try tamales that we usually don’t have around here.

It’s a fun experience for people,” expressed one of the festival-goers, highlighting the enjoyment the event brings to the community.

The tamale vendors had the chance to showcase their outstanding culinary skills during the popular “Best Tamale” contest, where they competed to impress the attendees with their unique and delicious creations.

The 7th Annual Tamale Festival in Atascadero proved to be a successful and enjoyable gathering, allowing both locals and visitors to savor the flavors of this beloved traditional dish while celebrating the vibrant culture surrounding it.
