A 72-year-old man in Brevard County, Florida, lost his leg in an alligator attack.

The incident occurred at the Great Outdoors RV and Golf sprawling complex, which is spread across 2800 acres.

The man was attacked by the gator and lost his leg from the knee down.

Two hours after the call reporting the attack, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) officers and Brevard Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and tracked a gator in a nearby canal.

The officers saw a gator with a human foot protruding from its mouth, and they fired at least four shots.

The officers then retrieved a foot and part of the leg, which was confirmed to be the victim’s.

Two gators were killed, with one larger than the other.

The victim was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.

The FWC is investigating the incident to determine what happened.
