A chemical release has occurred in Calcasieu Parish, prompting a shelter in place warning from the Louisiana State Police.

The release was discovered in the area, leading to the closure of I-10 westbound near Interstate 210, as well as roads near Exit 25.

The shelter in place order covers a one-mile radius west of the I-10 bridge.

Anyone in the affected area is advised to stay indoors until further notice.
