A woman identified as Mary White Crane allegedly shot at several neighbors’ homes in the 700 block of Birch Lane early Saturday morning, prompting a police response that included patrol officers, the BPD SWAT team, and U.S Marshals.

During the standoff, a Billings police detective was shot and rushed to the hospital for surgery, but his name has not yet been released.

The suspect suffers from mental health issues, according to her daughter Shamika Stiles, who reached out to MTN from Louisiana.

The standoff continues, and Stiles is worried about what could happen.
