A 2-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after being found in a pool in Baytown, according to local police.

This incident marks the second near-drowning incident in the area within a span of 48 hours.

The incident took place on Ellen St.

in the Pinehurst subdivision.

Emergency crews, including those from a nearby fire station, responded to the scene earlier today.

Aerial footage from Air 1 captured the ongoing activity as authorities worked to provide medical assistance.

The toddler was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital after being discovered in the pool.

Neighbors in the area mentioned that the pool belongs to a woman who babysits children.

They described her as usually being very cautious about potential dangers and even putting floaties on the kids when they are in the backyard.

However, today, it appears that the little girl managed to access the patio area and the pool, despite the presence of barriers, presumably at the back door.

While no fencing was observed around the pool itself, residents in the neighborhood have come together to pray for the young girl’s recovery.

She was flown to a hospital in Houston and was reported to be alive at the time.

Updates on her condition are eagerly awaited from officials in Baytown.

This incident serves as a constant reminder to remain vigilant, particularly during the summer season, when children are more likely to be around water.

Authorities and medical experts emphasize the importance of adults keeping a watchful eye on children whenever they are in or around water.

Reporting from Baytown, this is Jason Miles for KHOU 11 News.
