A 19-year-old man from Gila County, Arizona, has been accused of killing his parents.

Hunter Stanfield was taken into custody on Tuesday for the murder of Chase Stanfield, 39, and Gail Stanfield, 50.

The incident occurred in October of last year when the Gila County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home welfare check in the Whispering Pines Community.

When authorities arrived, they discovered two deceased people inside the house, both of whom had multiple gunshot wounds.

After conducting interviews and executing search warrants, the victim’s son, Hunter, became a person of interest.

He was brought in for an interview that subsequently resulted in his arrest.

Stanfield has no prior record with Gila County, and he was not able to provide anything that would lead to a motive.

He is currently charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is being held in the Gila County Jail.

This is a rare case for the county, which has never had a double homicide like this before.
