Three suspects accused of stealing 18,000 gallons of fuel from a gas station in Garland, Texas have been arrested.

According to Garland Police, an organized fuel theft ring used a souped-up box truck to commit the crime, and the group is believed to have committed similar crimes across the state.

The suspects were apprehended after police were alerted by employees at Ricky Rockets Fuel Center who noticed suspicious activity involving the same box truck making multiple purchases.

The thieves had 1500 gallons of stolen fuel in their tanks from a station in Bowie County when they were arrested.

The suspects have been identified as Julio Benitez Hernandez, Juan Santos lahon, and Raphael Vasquez unzaga, and are currently in the Bowie County Jail.

Police are still trying to determine the exact dollar value of the stolen fuel, and the suspects will eventually be transferred to Garland and charged in Dallas County.
