In a major joint operation targeting internet crimes against children, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office has arrested 18 suspects as part of “Operation Secret Admirer”.

The investigation began on Valentine’s Day and concluded on March 1, with most of the suspects living in Sacramento County.

The operation involved detectives posing as children aged 13 and younger on online forums to catch child predators.

Of the 18 arrests, three were registered sex offenders and one was on felony probation.

The Sacramento County Sheriff and the State Attorney General held a joint press conference to announce the results and urge parents to closely monitor their children’s online activity.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities warn that there are still more predators out there.
