In a tragic incident, a 12-year-old boy named Ronnel Smith was shot and killed on February 25, 2023, allegedly over a pair of designer glasses.
The West Allis Police Department released a statement announcing the arrest of 17-year-old Lawrence Griffin in connection with the shooting.
As per reports, the incident occurred at a birthday party inside the Bugging Out Lounge in Milwaukee, where Griffin allegedly attempted to snatch Smith’s glasses from his head.
Smith tried to run away, but unfortunately, he was shot by Griffin.
According to the criminal complaint, video footage from the party showed both the victim and the suspect present at the event.
The police arrested Griffin days later after a chase.
The accused teenager has been charged with the death of Ronnel Smith and faces life imprisonment if convicted.
