One person was killed and four others were injured in a two-car crash in South Sacramento.
The crash occurred early Saturday morning near Florin Road and Stockton Boulevard.
The four injured individuals have varying levels of seriousness, and there is no update on their conditions.
In Modesto, one woman was killed and another was seriously injured after their truck rolled down an embankment near Dry Creek.
The truck had to be reached with a system of ropes as crews had difficulty getting to it.
The cause of the crash is unknown, and police do not believe the driver was impaired.
A 28-year-old man was arrested in South Sacramento for a shooting that occurred on February 4th.
The police received reports of three shots fired throughout different neighborhoods during a short period of time.
They later searched the home of a suspect, Sion Kula Matanji, where they found two guns and narcotics.
He was booked in the Sacramento County Jail.
Sacramento police were able to get two guns off the street after responding to reports of an armed robbery on 15th Street.
Two suspects were arrested after officers chased them on foot.
The stolen property was also recovered.
